04.18Just Say No To AT&T
I am an AT&T customer. I’ve been an AT&T customer for years. Among the family, we’ve got 2 iPhones, a Windows Mobile phone, and until recently, 2 GoPhones.
The GoPhones are for emergency use, basically. They aren’t for general use - we would rather have a $30 GoPhone stolen than a $600 iPhone by far.
We haven’t [...]
crack phone [krak•fohn] - A loadable cell phone that a drug dealer or criminal can dispose of without major loss of his or her funds (e.g. AT&T GoPhones). Or now the new $20 cell phone that European company Hop-On plans to market the LCD screen-less phone towards “children” and “teenagers.” The phone runs on a simple [...]
“National cellphone alert system.” That’s what the FCC is calling a brand new plan which will send out text message alerts when a crisis occurs. The facts of this have been covered in mainstream media, so I won’t go into them too much.
Now, regarding the actual idea. 90 character, English limit. A few issues:
Text message [...]
Just as we start hearing rumors about the iPhone becoming 3G, Microsoft chooses the same service for their new product to be due April 14th, Microsoft Surface. For those who aren’t familiar with Microsoft Surface, think of a coffee table. Then think of a touch screen. Add the two together and you have a vague [...]
Excuse me for the long title but what is really important here is that British American Tobacco is the first BlackBerry client in Russia. It is being used under the Vimpelcom (what?!@) network. Customers will receive the 8700g model BlackBerry. Now Russians can have the excitement of mysterious vibrations.
03.31Sorry, Zoolander!
Nope. Almost.
Yes.
Looks like the world will have to replace “hellomoto!” with “hellomodu!” because the RAZR has seen better days when compared to the new Modu. When Dov Moran invested $100 million into creating the world’s lightest and probably smallest phone ever, he probably didn’t make the connection between small phones and our favorite male model: Zoolander. I would’ve liked to [...]
If you have an unlocked iPhone you will be able to use its EDGE connection to access the internet on your laptop. Lifehacker has a very long article about on how to do it. I won’t waste your time by trying to show you since I neither have an iPhone or a Mac, it is easier [...]
The Google phone has been announced and to some people’s surprise it’s an open software program that will be available on phones made by HTC, Motorola, LG and Samsung. The phones will be available on the Sprint and T-Mobile networks by the second half of 2008. The 34 members of the Open Handset Alliance who [...]
Verizon’s EVDO cards, which, prior to a court ruling, were advertised as unlimited. Unlimited, of course, means 5 gigabytes to Verizon. Now, Verizon has modified their T&Cs to state that they will provide unlimited bandwidth, but if they detect a user using more than 5GB per month, they will throttle your connection to 200 kbps. [...]
