“National cellphone alert system.” That’s what the FCC is calling a brand new plan which will send out text message alerts when a crisis occurs. The facts of this have been covered in mainstream media, so I won’t go into them too much.

Now, regarding the actual idea. 90 character, English limit. A few issues:

1. Text message charges: are these free?
2. What about non-english speakers?
3. Could this actually alert criminals when they are being tracked? Make crime easier?
