GadgetCore Holiday Gift Guide: Part 3 - Last Minute Shopping

Well this sucks. You haven’t gotten a gift for your best friend yet. Shopping online to avoid the hustle and bustle of Christmas isn’t going to cut it. Not unless you can shell out your whole wallet for next day shipping. So in the car you go, not quite sure what to get your friend. Here’s a list of stuff you could get your friend; that is if you actually get a parking space.

Low Budgets:

That’s right, your too cheap to spend over 40 bucks on your friend (or maybe they don’t deserve it).

You're so cheap if you buy this...

Not a half bad camera for $29.84. The VistaQuest 5 MP Digital Camera comes with 3.2 megapixel resolution which can changed into 5 megapixel resolution with special software. The camera is capable of 8x zoom and has expandable memory with an SD card. The LCD screen measures a small 1.5″ and movie mode records at a sluggish 8-12 fps, but that doesn’t matter, it’s still a great price. You can buy one of these at your local Wal-Mart.

i-Pod speakers in a can!

The iHome2go is genius. Now you can spend $18.99 and actually get them something worth while! These battery powered speakers are great for listening to your iPod with your friends, or on the go (hence the name iHome2go). Although it seems like a great buy, some users review it as “terrible sounding”. Find this at Target.

USB flashdrives are dropping in price.

Whoever invented flash drives probably didn’t realize that they were inventing a revolution. These little devices are out matching CD’s and sometimes, can even store more than a DVD. I even own one. This Cruzer Micro 4 GB flash drive costs $34.99, a little expensive, but well worth it. Cruzer is by far my favorite flash drive company. I own a 128MB Cruzer Mini that has lasted me for four years. All of my other flash drives broke. There are no cons to this flash drive, except probably the look on your friends face when he receives it. Avalible at OfficeMax.

High Budgets:

If your friend has been good this year, you can probably afford getting them something of a little more value, if you have the money.

External hard drives shut your friends up.

The I/O Magic External 320 GB Hard Drive- magic! I wouldn’t call it “magic” but it is a good buy for $99.99. Although it only supports USB 2.0 and IDE Interface, it does get a decent 480MB/sec. You can probably find hard drives for a lot cheaper and a lot better. Get this at Target.

The almost perfect keyboard.

Talk about a good-looking keyboard! Not only does it light up, it also includes special gaming keys for performing simple keystrokes or complex macros. It also includes an LCD screen so you can view server information, scores, and other valuable gaming information at your fingertips. The problem? This G15 Logitech Keyboard costs $99.99. It’s also not ergonomic which could be uncomfortable to some users (I’m personally okay with a normal keyboard). Check it out at MicroCenter.

So that wraps it up! Happy holidays!
