12.01Before GPS

The days before GPS were grim. Road atlases inside the glove compartment were your only means to find your way around. That was before GPS, and Sat-Nav. Honda cleverly designed a system that could track where you were without use of a satellite (Why it’s called Sat-Nav, beats me). You simply choose a plastic cellophane map and place it in the Sat-Nav. Then you tell the device where you are. The car then tells Sat-Nav where you go from there. Seemed simple, until you added the price tag. Sat-Navs were priced at around $8,000 at release. Like I said before, the days before GPS were grim.
